I cannot believe I have been living in the blogging bubble for just over a year and a half. In that time I have learnt so much yet there is so much more to learn. There are so many great posts out there offering tips and advice on how to blog, schedule and much more.
What I want to share today is what works for me, what blogging essentials help me with my day-to-day blogging. Trust me I am by no strength of the imagination an expert, just a blogger that is happy in her own groove, enjoying the journey.
For me my first key items have to be my Mac Book and iPhone, I love them because they sync together, all emails, notes and photos I take are seamlessly transferred over between the two, which makes life so much easier.
My Lumix camera is something I never travel without, it takes great photos but is compact and easy to use. The only feature missing off the model I currently have is Wi-Fi so I can connect to social media, but I love the camera so much that when I upgrade it will be to a model within the range that has this feature. I know lots of bloggers have huge cameras but for me this one is light and easy to carry and i love the picture quality, zoom and videos.
A diary is a must, yes it is great to be able to store thing in my online calendar but I like to scribble post ideas and plan my schedule, make notes and plan ahead visually. I am a bit of a mind map planner, so a diary with notes pages is vital.
I recently discovered Toad Diaries they are just perfect as you can personalise the cover and contents. I like my diary to have a week on a page and a note page and Toad offers you this facility as well as many others including the academic layout, week to page view and many others. They are quick and easy to order and my bespoke diary arrived within days of ordering.
With every diary you also need a supply of pens, now all my students know I am a little obsessive about pens. It drives me so mad how pens just walk, I am constantly loosing them. I tend to try where possible to use distinctive pens that stand out so I can’t loose them. The STABILO festival spirit is nice and bright and perfect to keep tabs on as it is quite distinctive and honestly this is my bugbear in life, I don’t know where my pens go.
One thing I have discovered quite quickly is when I am out and about on blogging events, which seems to happen much more lately I find it so hard to eat healthily. Service stations and train stations do not offer many healthy options, in fact I picked up a healthy looking salad last week and it has as much fat in as a burger and chips, how does that happen?
So I have started packing up my own healthy lunch so I am able to maintain my weight a little rather than giving up and eating a huge sandwich of burger. I am loving the Sistema range as it has separate compartments to I can take a nice salad and yoghurt without worrying about it all getting squashed. This also came with a great drinks bottle but it seems Joe has claimed that and has no intention of sharing. Note to self, get pink next time he wont touch pink.
